International students can work up to 20 hours per week with the required permit. After graduating, they can extend their residence permit for 12 months to look for a job or start a business in Austria.

Tuition fee for students from third countries:
→ EUR 726.72 per semester (plus Austrian Student Union fee of approx. 26 EUR)
Living expenses
Average monthly budget: EUR 1,100 – 1,300 (depending on lifestyle and study location)
→ Student dorm: EUR 350 – 600
→ Food & groceries: approx. EUR 300
→ Public transport: from EUR 50 per semester (student discounts available, varies by city)
→ Health insurance:
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens: Usually covered with the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), optional supplementary insurance recommended.
Non-EU citizens: approx. EUR 80 per month (student self-insurance, if eligible)
