Studies on the design of sustainable, global flows of goods

Who links design from Italy with socially responsible raw materials from all over the world, environmentally friendly production in Asia and customers in Europe and the western world? Logisticians design and optimize sustainable material and goods flows around the globe. They are responsible for stock levels in warehouses, the availability of goods in stores and online stores, and for the best possible utilization of means of transport to reduce environmental impact. Logistics not only improves and optimizes existing processes, but also actively shapes our path to a lower-emission future and thus helps companies to be more successful and making society more sustainable! The International Logistics Management course provides the necessary skills for this and offers the long-term security to be economically successful in an increasingly dynamic environment. Logistics is the discipline for our future and provides job security.

Access Requirements

University entrance qualification (Austrian „Matura“ and German „Abitur“, respectively or equivalent qualification).
English required on B2 level, German language skills required on A2 level. Certification required to proof language skills from well renowned institutions, e.g. Goethe Institute. Applicants with little or no German language skills should consider enrolling into the into the UAS Upper Austria's International Foundation Program (IFP) first.

Job opportunities

After completing the ILM course, you will take on project and management tasks within the entire value chain, i.e. from procurement to sales. Typical tasks: Negotiating, optimizing, designing, planning and controlling processes, international project management and consultancy work. The training ensures long-term benefits and flexibility by combining specialist know-how in several areas with business knowledge. Internationality is practiced through a mandatory semester abroad (full-time), English lectures and optionally a second foreign language or intensive training with English case studies.

The largest Austrian research facility for logistics (logistikum.at) located at the FH Upper Austria Campus Steyr ensures that the latest research results are incorporated into teaching and ideal networking with practice through the Logistics Network Association (vnl.at) in Steyr.

International

Logistics management is an international task. Around a third of the courses are taught in English. Full-time students spend a compulsory semester abroad at one of the 100 partner universities. Part-time students experience a 3rd semester largely taught in English.
