Practical Experience and Research
From the beginning on students apply their knowledge in industry projects. In intercultural and inderdisciplinary teams students work on real world problems for local and international firms. The final thesis will be written for and in a company.
International environment
Innovation and Product Management is an international and interdisciplinary degree program with students from more than 20 countries. Intercultural aspects and strategies in all disciplines are a cornerstone of the curriculum.
There is no week when I do not thank IPM for giving me this wide range of knowledge about innovation and product management. My experience is something special: Having a holistic view in software and hardware, including the newest innovation methodologies gives me great opportunities at my current position.

What are the entry requirements for the IPM Master’s degree programme?
You will need a completed Master's (Mag./DI) or Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS) from a recognized higher education institution in order to fulfil the entry requirements for the IPM Master’s degree programme.
In addition, your previous studies should contain courses in Business and Marketing, Mathematics and Statistics, Natural Sciences and Engineering and Professional Skills. If you don’t have enough knowledge in the single subject areas, they can be made up during the first semester.
All applicants are required to submit an official and current (maximum 2 years) English language certificate (TOEFL “78 Points” or IELTS “6.0 – Competent User”). German skills are not required.
What is unique about the IPM programme?
The IPM Master's degree offers a unique combination of skills in the area of marketing, design, technology and strategic management - everything a future innovation / product manager needs to succeed in a VUCA world.
Do I need to be on campus everyday?
No, usually you will be at the campus three days a week. We keep Mondays free and schedule one day with online classes where you can attend from home.
How can I apply for the IPM programme?
You can easily and quickly apply for the IPM programme through our online application.
After your application you will be invited to an online-interview with one of our professors. During that, you learn about our programme in more detail and you can ask all your questions. Together we will find out, whether your interests and expectations match with the content of the programme. So you can be sure that IPM is the right programme for you.
How is life outside of the classroom?
First of all, our IPM programme is very international, so you will meet fellow students from all around the world and make friendships and connections for life. Other than that, Wels is located right in the center of Upper Austria with a great public transportation, so you can make trips to our beautfiul mountains or historic cities quickly and easily. Our university also offers a lot of events and activities like our International Evening.
