Travel
Wels is located near Linz, the capital of the state of Upper Austria, and approx. 120 km from Salzburg and 200 km from Vienna.
The closest airports are Linz, Salzburg, Vienna and Munich (Germany).
Travel by train
Wels has direct train connections with Vienna, Salzburg and Linz. The main train station "Wels Hauptbahnhof" is located at only 7 minutes walking distance from the campus.

From Linz airport:
Linz airport is situated between Wels and Linz. There is a free shuttle bus from the airport to the train station in Hörsching, where trains for Wels leave every hour. Tickets are currently € 3,80 and must be bought at the ticket vending machine before boarding the train.
Otherwise, you can take a taxi from the airport to Wels (approx. 20 km, 20 min. and 40€).
From Salzburg airport:
Bus no. 2 departs from Salzburg airport every 15 minutes to the train station (see www.svv-info.at ). From there, trains are going every hour to Wels, the estimated travel time is one hour. Tickets for the bus are available in the newspaper shop (Trafik) inside the airport or direcly on the bus.
From Vienna airport:
There is a direct bus connection between the airport and the “Westbahnhof” (train station west) where trains to Wels leave hourly. Tickets for the airport shuttle bus can be bought inside the bus and cost 6 €. The travel time from Vienna Westbahnhof to Wels is approximately 2 hours.
From Munich Airport:
From Munich to Wels you can either choose the route via Salzburg, or via Passau, travel time for both routes is approx. 4 hours.
Via Passau: Take bus#635 or taxi to Freising (approx. 15 min), from there you can take a regional train to Passau, or change to a faster train in Plattling.
Via Salzburg: Take the urban train S1 or S8 to Munich East or Munich Central station, from there you can take express trains to Salzburg or even Linz, where you then need to change to a train to Wels.
Travel by car
Please take Autobahn exit "Wels Nord" towards Wels center.

- Visitors may also use the parking garage in the main building (Stelzhamerstr. 23): Limited number of visitors; guest ticket necessary at entry and exit, you will receive it from your FH host via email before your visit.
Recommendation on accommodation
