Entry tutorials
To make it easier for you to get started in the technical subjects of the degree program, tutorials are held in September which do not anticipate the content of the respective lectures, but are only intended to provide a small introductory aid for "newcomers" to the respective subject matter.
The contents of the tutorials can be found in the following overview. If you have not yet come into contact with the respective course content, we recommend that you attend the free events.
Mechanics
Target groups: For all first-year students who have no prior knowledge of statics and strength of materials.

Course content:
- Introduction to engineering mechanics and applications
- Movements, speed, acceleration
- Force, work, torque
- Mathematical description
- Introduction to the theory of strength
- Material properties, material testing
- Beam on two supports
- Beam clamped on one side
- Experimental illustration

Construction
Target groups: For all first-year students who have no prior knowledge of descriptive geometry or technical drawing.
Lecturer: Dr. Peter Hehenberger
Course content:
- Basics of descriptive geometry:
- Mapping methods, in particular normal projection points, straight lines, curves,
- Figures in projective and general position, unfoldings, circular representations
- Fundamentals of technical drawing:
- Representation of a solid in the plane, arrangement of views,
- Sectional views, freehand drawing
Please bring compasses, ruler, set square, pencil and squared and unlined paper

Chemistry
The target group are graduates of the study qualification course and all interested parties who want to refresh the basics of chemistry in order to start their studies more easily.
The course is particularly recommended for future students on the VTP, BUT, LTE, AGR, MKT LCW, MBI and MT degree courses.
The course includes lecture, exercise and laboratory, comprises 20 units and will mainly focus on the periodic table, the nomenclature of compounds and the basics of chemical arithmetic.
The course times on days 1 and 3 are 9:00 to approx. 15:00 and on day 2 (Fri, 02.09.22 and Tue, 13.09.22) 9:00 to approx. 15:00 or 14:00 to approx. 20:00 (morning or afternoon lab group depending on the number of participants).
There are 2 dates planned, each with the same content:
- Course 1: Tuesday, 22.08.23, Wednesday, 23.08.23, Thursday, 24.08.23
- Course 2: Monday, 11.09.23, Tuesday, 12.09.23, Wednesday, 13.09.23
