Photo Contest

Every year, many of our students decide to spend a semester abroad or complete their internship abroad. Some attend a summer or winter school abroad. We would now like to invite them to take part in our ‘Postcards from abroad’ photo competition, because after all, everyone has them - wonderful memories of their semester or internship abroad: be it of a beautiful place or scenery that took your breath away, of people who impressed you, or of crazy or exciting things you did or tried out abroad.

Do you have photos of these highlights on your camera? Then show them to us and take part in our photo competition! It's worth taking part!

We are giving away Thalia vouchers, canteen vouchers, FH Upper Austria goodies such as a powerbank, hoodie and rucksack and more!

Who can participate?

All students of the FH Upper Austria Faculty of Computer Science, Communication and Media who spend/spent a semester at a university abroad, are completing/completed their internship abroad or have participated in a summer/winter school and are still registered as students at the FH. However, participation is only possible once per stay abroad.

How many photos can be submitted?

A maximum of 3 photos can be submitted per student.

In which format and resolution should the photos be submitted?

Please submit as .jpg and in print resolution (200-300dpi).

Until when can the photos be submitted?

Until 15 June 2025

How can the photos be submitted?

Please send the photos by e-mail and include the following information in the e-mail:

Students from FH OÖ Campus Hagenberg

Name of student

Degree programme

When the semester/internship abroad is/was completed, including duration

Where the semester/internship abroad will be/was completed (country, university or research institute or company)

What you are doing/did during the semester/internship abroad (brief description of your work or study focus)

What you particularly liked about the semester/internship abroad

And ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT: what your submitted photo represents or shows

Do I have to be in the photos?

Not necessarily. But it would be great :-)

What other conditions of participation do I need to fulfil?

You agree that your photo and name may be posted free of charge on the website and social media channels of the FH Upper Austria Faculty Hagenberg. You also agree that your photo may be used free of charge for the communication/application of the FH Upper Austria Faculty Hagenberg and may be used for its printed matter, advertising material and online media such as homepage, newsletter etc.. In return, you have the right to be named as the source of your photo.

How are the photos voted on?

There will be a jury vote and a public vote.

In the jury voting, a jury of faculty members will select the best photos.

The public voting runs via SurveyLegend where you can vote for the best 3 photos. Whoever has received the most votes for his/her photo by 18 June 2025 (1 pm) is the winner of this voting.

The decision will be announced on the website and the social media channels of the FH Upper Austria Faculty Hagenberg on 18 June 2025.

When and where will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced on this website on 18 June 2025. The winners will also be notified by email. Legal recourse is excluded, no cash redemption possible.

We were able to crown the following students as our winners in the FHotowettbewerb 2024:

Public Voting

Artan took first place in the public voting: ‘Colourful view of Aarhus in the rainbow panorama from the ARoS art museum.’

Jury voting

1st place: Anna with her picture from Sweden ‘During a trip to Swedish Lapland we were able to experience the Northern Lights.’

2nd place: Marlene with her picture from Ireland ‘Near my university there was the sea with a beautiful beach to linger on - I definitely fell in love with it.’

3rd place: Florian with his picture from Finland ‘My highlight was the trip to Lapland with dog sledding, snowshoeing and swimming in the Arctic Ocean after the sauna ... and of course the Northern Lights!’
