Throughout the academic year, from the legendary Summer and Winter Festivals to the Beer Crate Race and the Hagenberg Pub Quiz, there is always something going on at the Hagenberg campus. In addition, there are movie nights, soccer tournaments, and dance classes. In between, there are regular student parties, so there is never a dull moment in Hagenberg and our students get to know each other well. The relaxed atmosphere on campus and the close-knit student community is something our graduates always look back on with fondness.

Student Parties and Fun Events

In order to make life on the Hagenberg campus interesting outside of studies, the student union (ÖH) of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria takes care of student interests and organizes numerous leisure activities and student parties. In addition to this, the degree programs also organize student parties - called "FH Kellerfest" (FKF for short, takes place at the university) or Eiskellerfest (EKF for short, takes place in the ice cellar of Hagenberg Castle).

Expert and Networking Events

The program in Hagenberg also includes various events related to our main areas of study: for example, the Security Forum, the Game Jam, the Animation Jam, coding contests, digital media workshops and much more. In addition, the Softwarepark Hagenberg IT expert event series always offers exciting presentations on current topics.

Our FH>>next careers fair - the largest subject-specific careers fair for IT and media at an Austrian university - as well as various start-up events and start-up talk days invite you to network with companies.

The degree programs and our Career Center regularly arrange guest lectures on a variety of interesting topics during the semester.

Get-to-Know-You Event for First Semester Students

The Austrian Student Union (ÖH) organizes the Introductory Event Evening (EVA) - an event at the beginning of the semester that is all about the new students. The evening is divided into a lecture section and a meet & greet. A must for all first semester students, where the most important information about (student) life on the Hagenberg campus is provided.

Recharge Your Batteries in Hagenberg Castle Park

The castle park connects the historic Hagenberg Castle with the modern office and university of applied sciences buildings in the Softwarepark. Especially in the warmer months, many students use the castle park to study, have a picnic, play sport or simply relax.

Extensive Range of Sports

Sports enthusiasts will find challenging running and cycling routes and fun courts. A multi-purpose sports hall suitable for competitions with a climbing wall is available for students and sports clubs, and there is also a sports club at the University of Applied Sciences with a wide range of sports activities. Musicians in Hagenberg

There are various opportunities for all music enthusiasts to get involved, and the University of Applied Sciences has its own music rehearsal room. The FH Big Band Hagenberg was active for a long time, only slowed down by the lockdowns. However, the Campina Band is currently active and other projects can be initiated at any time. Interested parties are invited to network via the Discord server, information can be obtained from the Austrian Student Union (ÖH) on campus.

fhLUG - FH Hagenberg Linux User Group

If you are particularly interested in Linux systems, you should definitely get in touch with the fhLUG. There you will find like-minded people who can help you with Linux-related problems or with whom you can discuss the latest innovations in the Linux sector. Information from the Municipality of Hagenberg

The market town of Hagenberg offers a wealth of information about life in the community in its welcome folder, which is available at the municipal office or online (only available in German). There you will also find the leisure compass for the Lower Feldaist region (only available in German) (Hagenberg, Pregarten, Unterweitersdorf, Wartberg) as well as the contact persons for clubs and voluntary organizations, which are of course also open to students.
