First Aid
Our buildings are equipped with defibrillators and first aid kits so that help can be provided quickly in an emergency.
The use of a defibrillator can save lives in the event of a cardiac arrest. Defibrillators are designed in such a way that even a medical layperson can and should use them. The defibrillators used at the Faculty of Hagenberg (Samaritan PAD 500P CPR Advisor and LIFEPAK CR Plus) guide you through the resuscitation process with real-time instructions. To do this, take the device out of the pocket and press the start button.
First aid kits are available for the treatment of major and minor injuries.
Our defibrillators and first aid kits are accessible to everyone during our opening hours.
Locations of our defibrillators:
- FH1.1 next to room FH1.107
- FH2.1 in the first aid room
- FH3.3 next to HS7 (FH3.304)
The first aid kits and defibrillators are marked on our campus and building map.
Emergency numbers:
- European emergency number: 112
- Fire department: 122
- Police: 133
- Ambulance: 144
Deaf and hearing-impaired people can use the DEC112 smartphone app to chat with an emergency center if they have an emergency. In Austria, it can be used to contact the fire department, police, ambulance, mountain rescue and the European emergency number. Furthermore, the deaf service of the police can be used by sending a message to 0800 133 133.
This app can also be used to make a silent emergency call. In the event of acute threat or violence - if a voice or text-based emergency call is not possible - an emergency call can be issued nearly unnoticed. With the simple press of a button the police is notified and a response unit is sent to the calling person.
