Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute

It might be tempting to study everything right before an exam, but this approach usually only helps short-term. Research shows that cramming doesn’t lead to long-term understanding or real learning. Instead:

Start early
Review material regularly
Break big topics into smaller parts
Studying a little every day is far more effective (and less stressful!).

Plan Your Study Time

University life requires strong time management. Without a plan, it’s easy to fall behind. Try this:

Create a weekly study schedule
Set clear goals for each session
Use tools like calendars or apps

Having a plan gives you structure and reduces procrastination.

Ask for Help Early

Asking questions is part of learning.

Ask lecturers for clarification
Join tutoring sessions
Talk to classmates

The earlier you ask for help, the easier it is to stay on track.

Study Together

Learning doesn’t always have to be a solo activity. Studying with others can boost your understanding.

Share different perspectives
Explain topics to each other
Stay motivated

Working with classmates makes studying more interactive and often more fun and can help you strengthen your relationship with your mates

Find your own learning style

Everyone learns differently. Some prefer reading, others learn better by doing or discussing. If you want to find out more about different studying methods and what you could try check out our article on Learningtypes
