Offers from the University of Applied Sciences
If you have just started studying at FH Upper Austria, you probably do not yet know even a fraction of all the services and opportunities we offer. Here you will find an overview of our services.
Library
All faculties have libraries that provide a wide range of books, databases, and electronic journals related to their respective areas of specialization. The PRIMO library search engine gives you access to the complete print and digital collections of all FH Upper Austria libraries. In addition, the Database Information System (DBIS) allows you to quickly and easily access licensed databases from a variety of academic fields.
The libraries also offer interlibrary loans and article ordering services. Materials can be requested from other FH Upper Austria campus libraries as well as from most academic libraries in Austria and abroad.
In addition, the libraries provide quiet spaces for studying and working!
IT Services
FH Upper Austria operates a professional IT Service Desk for all campuses. This service acts as a central hotline staffed by qualified IT experts. It serves as the primary point of contact for all IT users at FH Upper Austria and handles technical issues (such as hardware and software problems), IT requests, and IT procurement.
Students can receive comprehensive support, information, and assistance with all available IT services.

The Gender & Diversity Management Conference (GDM-C) is an advisory body founded in 2008. It consists of FH Upper Austria staff members from different departments across all four faculties. The GDM-K serves as an important point of contact for students on issues related to diversity and equal opportunities, providing information and advice on a wide range of topics.
Need Some Help?
"Need Some Help" is a support initiative offered by the GDM-K. It provides access to various counseling services and support centers that can help students during difficult situations or crises. The program includes both external counseling services and internal FH services such as "Mental Health First Aid"
Austrian Students' Union (ÖH)
Although the Austrian Students' Union (ÖH) is not directly part of FH Upper Austria, it works closely with the institution. It represents all students and is organized into three levels:
- Student Representation (representatives of individual degree programs)
- University Representation (representing the entire university)
- Federal Representation (nationwide representation across Austria)
Every two years, students directly elect the ÖH. It serves as the voice of students in dealings with universities and political institutions.
