Building Bridges Across Continents: Guatemalan International School visits FH Upper Austria Wels Campus
The FH Upper Austria Wels Campus had the pleasure of welcoming a special international delegation: 27 students and 4 accompanying teachers from the Instituto Austriaco Guatemalteco – the Austrian international school in Guatemala – visited the campus as part of a week-long study trip through Austria.
Internationalization is a top priority at FH Upper Austria, and the university is committed to fostering long-term, sustainable international partnerships. The visit from this bicultural, trilingual school (Spanish, German, English) reflects that commitment. The Instituto Austriaco Guatemalteco’s mission is to provide an excellent humanistic and scientific education in an environment that harmoniously blends Guatemalan and Austrian cultures. The school aims to prepare its graduates for success at both national and international universities and to empower them to make meaningful contributions to social development.
During their time at Wels Campus, the students took the opportunity to learn more about life and studying in Upper Austria and engaged in conversations with students and staff from the university.
Mag. Kamilla Trubicki, Head of the International Office, expressed her enthusiasm about the visit: “It was a pleasure to meet the students from the Austrian international school in Guatemala and to discuss study opportunities in Austria with them. We look forward to further joint activities and to welcoming future students from Guatemala.” The visit was an inspiring example of international educational cooperation and cultural exchange in action.
