Food Technology is an interdisciplinary technological career field with interwoven areas of knowledge. In the foreground are the new- and further development of technologies and products. Conservation of natural resources, process optimisation and efficiency of production are the driving forces in the food industry in order to be able to offer products at competitive prices and of simultaneous high quality.

Future career

Graduates manage, safeguard, develop and improve the product development and production of food. In doing so, they take into account nutritional and food law criteria. They are also employed in the research and development of new foods, in production and in quality assurance and quality control in the entire food sector. Their knowledge of nutritional science and raw materials also makes graduates suitable contacts for both product developers and marketing. A career is also possible in the food trade, which has a need for academics trained in food technology due to an increasing proportion of private labels.
