Psychology & Physiology

The Psychology and Physiology track is an important component of human-computer interaction that places people at the center of our analysis. While the UX and Interaction Design track examines methods for identifying users’ expectations and needs, this track provides fundamental knowledge about human thought and attention processes, as well as motor skills, that must be taken into account when designing interactive products.

You will gain insight into the fascinating field of physiology to understand how the human body interacts with the environment, how the processes of development and aging work, and what motor limitations need to be taken into account.

In cognitive psychology, you will learn how human information processing and the associated mental processes work. In this context, visual and auditory perception also play an important role in understanding how users perceive the information presented by a user interface, what limitations need to be taken into account, and how attention can be directed toward essential functionalities.

In industrial and organizational psychology, you will learn how to identify sources of stress and analyze and design work processes so that you can apply this knowledge to the creation of efficient user interfaces that provide users with optimal support in performing their tasks.
