Welcome to a New Academic Year!

This academic year 2024-25 the School of Engineering of FH Upper Austria, at Wels Campus opened its doors wide to almost 300 students from all over the world. Young promising minds from more than 70 different countries, who seek to get new knowledge and best hands-on experience, ready for an exciting journey of discovery and innovations, gathered here on Wels Campus, ready to start their new study chapter as well as become part of a big global family. Surprisingly, but after a week of endless rain and heavy floods, on the very Welcome morning the yard of the campus was lit with the first warm sunshine as if blessing the freshers for the start of their new study marathon.

Knowing how stressful the beginning of studies can be for the first- year students, in order to facilitate their start, there was a series of the Welcome Week events organised by International Office, including Info Sessions, Campus Tours, social networking (Welcome Get-Together) and Wels City Tour. The students got all valuable information, general overview and useful tips, which are sure to be helpful throughout the studies.

As part of the festivities, students received a special gift: sustainable, reusable coffee cups, encouraging them to be responsible towards a greener future during their time on campus. University representatives emphasised the importance of sustainability in the university’s mission, making the coffee cups a fitting gesture.

While students settle into their new routines, the university community looks forward to a vibrant and successful year, wishing everyone a fantastic start to the winter semester, filled with new friendships and connections, enriching experiences and academic achievements!
