Guest Professor from German-Jordanian University Visits FH Upper Austria
In a stride towards fostering international academic relationships, FH Upper Austria welcomed a distinguished guest professor from the German Jordanian University (GJU) in November.
Dr. Ala’ Khalifeh, Associate Professor at the ElectricalEngineering Department as well as President Advisor for Campus Life at the German Jordanian University in Amman, Jordan spent a week at the School of Engineering at Wels Campus to strengthen the ties between the institutions and share his knowledge with FH Upper Austria students.
The visit, brimming with enlightening discourse and insightful discussions with several colleagues from the fields of ElectricalEngineering as well as Information Technology highlighted multiple fields of joint interest and will contribute to further discussions between the institutions.
Dr. Khalifeh, expert for Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, Multimedia Communications and Cloud Computing, offered the university's students an exclusive lecture on the cutting-edge technology. His expertise brought the evolving field of cloud and edge computing to life during sessions around its advancements, applications, and potential impact on the future of technology.
Besides the interesting guest lecture, the visit also comprised discussions on the intensification of the collaboration between GJU and FH Upper Austria. Both parties expressed a keen interest in strengthening ties, seizing the opportunity to deliberate on exchange programs, joint research initiatives, academic seminars, and the possibilities of enriching cross-cultural knowledge.
The visit concluded on a promising note, paving the way for possible student and faculty exchanges, shared resources, and collaborative research between the two universities. Such cooperative relationships are pivotal in the development of broad-minded, diversified, and future-ready academics, a goal shared by both FH Upper Austria and GJU.
