“FareWels” Event 2024
Exams are coming to an end and for all the incoming exchange students it is time to say goodbye to the semester and Austria before they return home. Our outgoing students, in their turn, are looking forward to the day when they move to a new country and start their new academic journey.
In the middle of the June International office of FHOÖ Wels Campus organised a farewell party for all the incoming and outgoing exchange students, aiming to connect them and cherish the last moments before a significant life change. It has already become an every year tradition to bring all the exchange students together before they leave.
This time the “FareWels Party” took place in a typically Austrian “Gast Garten” restaurant, where everyone could try local specialities and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere to memorise the moment and the stay. During the dinner time students shared their memories and first-hand experience, exchanged their general impressions and insights, asked for and gave advice and told about their cultural shock, which they had to experience when first coming to Austria. Many of them agreed that Austrian punctuality is what one has to get used to and definitely take into habit.
Bidding you farewell, we would like to tell, that being an exchange student is such an honour and also a privilege, which students earn themselves. So, give yourself a pat on the back as one of the biggest steps in your life is done!
With a mix of emotions, ranging from sadness, joy and excitement to nostalgia and hope, we would like to thank our incoming students for this exciting semester and wish our outgoing ones to come back soon with new academic and life experiences and knowledge. We also would like to say that we will be missing all of you and looking forward to seeing you again!
