House Rules FH-Campus Steyr

1. Area of Application
The house rules apply to students, internal and external staff of and visitors to the Faculty of Business and Management, Steyr - referred to hereafter as users. They cover the three campus buildings FH I, FH II and FH III, DigiSpace in the Museum Arbeitswelt as well as the outdoor areas of the campus. The house rules are to be handed out or made known to each user within a reasonable period of time. Ignorance of these house rules is no protection from the consequences of violating them.
2. General
Any damage to water pipes, drainage pipes or the roof must be reported immediately to the facility management or the Technology/Infrastructure Department. The same applies to other incidents of importance to other users, such as fire, burglary, etc., even if these only affect parts of the facilities.
Every user is obliged to behave with consideration to others to maintain peace on the premises. All users are urged to take the greatest possible care of all buildings and everything on the premises (rooms and their furnishings, outdoor areas, car park, various facilities, etc.). As a rule, alcohol is prohibited within the campus buildings (with the exception of the refectory). Persons impaired by alcohol or addictive drugs who disturb the peace and order through their behaviour or condition may be expelled from the building.
Every user is obliged to pay compensation for any damage to the rooms and equipment caused by his/her negligent or inconsiderate behaviour due to non-observance of these house rules. The repair of damage or removal of soiling must be arranged by the liable user at his/her own expense. If the damage is not repaired within a reasonable period of time, the Faculty of Business and Management Steyr may arrange for the restoration of the premises to their original condition at the expense of the person concerned. This liability applies in the same way to relatives, visitors, craftsmen, etc.
3. Faculty of Business and Management Steyr – Opening Times
The campus buildings are usually open from Monday to Saturday, 7.00 am - 5.30 pm. The campus buildings are closed on Sundays and public holidays. Every day at 10 p.m., the security personnel begin to empty and lock the building. All persons present who are not attending a course or registered event at the faculty must leave the building and follow the instructions of the security personnel. Outside opening hours, campus buildings are locked and can only be entered with an authorisation card. When leaving, offices must be locked, windows and doors closed and lights switched off.
Occasional deviations from the above-mentioned opening hours (e.g. holiday periods - Christmas, Easter, summer or installation/conversion work etc.) are specified and communicated as and when required.
4. Keys/authorisation cards
Keys/authorisation cards issued by the administration are only to be used in compliance with the usage guidelines provided when the card is issued.
5. Teaching facilities
Die Resources (rooms, equipment, IT-equipment, media technology etc.) on campus can be used during opening hours for tasks related to the university of applied sciences (both during and outside of courses).
Persons who are not included in the user groups listed at the beginning of these house rules (external persons not belonging to the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences), may use the resources only after conclusion of a room use contract. Teaching facilities must be left in an orderly state after each use i.e. tables and chairs must be returned to their original positions, windows and doors must be closed and lights switched off.
6. Safety
The storage or use of flammable, explosive or toxic substances on the campus grounds as well as the carrying of dangerous objects such as weapons etc. is prohibited. Leaning out of windows or throwing objects of any kind out of windows is prohibited. For the use of equipment and facilities (such as passenger lifts, goods lifts, technical equipment, etc.), the respective operating instructions must be observed, and the instructions of the respective trained staff must be followed. Escape routes and exits must be kept clear in accordance with the fire regulations. Special attention is drawn to the fact that the doors that close off fire and smoke compartments must not be fixed open so that their closing function as fire doors is not impaired. At this point, explicit reference is made to the fire safety regulations and information on "Behaviour in case of fire".
7. Cleanliness and Waste Separation
For the disposal of waste of all kinds, the containers provided must be used. Any depositing of waste in other places (including next to the waste containers) is prohibited. Bulky waste must be removed from the premises by the owner.
FH OÖ Studienbetriebs GmbH is a member of the Climate Protection Alliance. Waste separation is therefore taken particularly seriously at the Faculty of Business and Management Steyr. In the teaching rooms (lecture halls, seminar rooms, IT rooms) and in the foyers and corridors of the campus buildings, appropriate waste separation systems have been installed to separate the waste produced into three colour-coded categories (paper, plastic/metal and general other waste) in a climate-friendly and environmentally friendly manner. No solid objects (leftovers, etc.) may be thrown into the drains in the sanitary facilities. Furthermore, the emptying of liquids that may cause blockage or contamination of the drains is prohibited. The generally accessible
terraces, staircases, stairways, parking spaces and other outdoor areas are used jointly by their users and as such are to be treated with care. Here, too, the utmost cleanliness is to be observed, since it is the communal areas that create an overall impression of the complex. Every user is required to make a contribution to this.
8. Clearance of Snow
The clearance of snow is organised by the Faculty of Business and Management, Steyr. All users must ensure that no obstruction of the access paths and roads or hindrance of the snow clearance process occurs.
9. Noise Prevention
Any unnecessary noise beyond that which occurs in the process of normal teaching and studying must be avoided. If above average noise-levels are necessary (even for only a short time) the facility management and/or the Department of Technology/Infrastructure must be informed.
10. Eating/Drinking
Eating and drinking are permitted in the foyers and student lounge areas, subject to cleanliness and proper waste disposal. However, eating and drinking are not permitted in the teaching rooms (lecture halls, seminar rooms, IT rooms) or in the library.
11. Smoking
Smoking is absolutely forbidden in all campus buildings. Smoking in the grounds is allowed in the smoking areas designated by the presence of standing ashtrays, outside the main entrances of the campus buildings. In the interests of cleanliness and environmental protection, cigarette ends must always be disposed of in the standing ashtrays provided.
12. Parking of Bicycles
Bicycles must be parked exclusively in the bicycle cellar in FH I or in the bicycle racks outside FH III.
13. Car Park
The car park of the Faculty of Business and Management, Steyr is not open to the public and may only be used with a valid parking permit. The parking area is limited to the designated areas. In particular, the stipulations of the road traffic regulations as well as the respective specified conditions (e.g. management) must be observed. The Faculty of Economics and Management accepts no liability for damage, theft etc.
14. General Information Boards and Notices
The allocation of information spaces is the responsibility of the administration. Notices and posters may only be displayed on the free information areas designated for this purpose and only after informing and receiving approval (signature, stamp) from the administration. The allocation of information space will be revoked if it is repeatedly found to be used for purposes other than those for which it is intended.
15. Lockers
The Faculty of Business and Management Steyr provides lockers for students to rent for a limited period of time. Both the locker keys issued by the administration as well as the lockers themselves are to be used only in compliance with the usage guidelines provided on issue of a key.
16. Flooding
Due to their location, the campus buildings are at risk of flooding. In case of flooding, information will be provided by email and on the Faculty of Business and Management, Steyr’s website. If necessary, the entire campus grounds can be declared out of bounds. The instructions and information of the responsible staff must be complied with in the interests of your personal safety.
17. Animals
It is not allowed to bring animals into the campus buildings.
