Research and development at Campus Hagenberg is all about computer science, communication and media. 13 research groups work on innovative solutions for the digital future.

In 2022, research projects with a turnover of 6.4 million euros were carried out at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Campus Hagenberg. Around 50 professors work together with 100 academic staff in interdisciplinary teams and mostly with research partners from science and industry on innovative solutions, for example through the further development of human-computer interaction, the development of new artificial intelligence algorithms, the use of mixed reality and information visualization. The fields of application of the new technologies are broadly diversified and range from sustainable energy management and smart production to medicine and biodiversity.
