Long Night of Research 2026 at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria
Under the motto “experience – understand – discover,” visitors to the Long Night of Research at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria were invited to explore a wide range of research topics and connect directly with researchers.

From 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, curious minds of all ages dove into a diverse program—free of charge—offering exciting insights into the innovations of tomorrow.
At its four Schools, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria presented themed stations tailored to each School: In Hagenberg, visitors experienced a varied program with nine interactive hands-on stations, offering engaging insights into current research fields such as computer science, AI, digital media, communication, and design—presented in an accessible way and designed for participation. Research in key future technologies took center stage.
In Linz, a hands-on station explored the question: “Printing organs with a bioprinter?” and at the Wels campus, researchers showcased stations covering topics such as automation and simulation, food technology and nutrition, energy and environment, innovation and technology management, measurement and testing, and much more.
The Steyr campus provided exciting insights into various aspects of digitalization from a management andbusiness perspective.
