Human-Centered Design of IT-Systems

IT systems of the future will need to instinctively respond to user needs and competencies. This cutting-edge, part-time degree programme gives graduates of information technology studies the chance to refine their skills in developing more accessible and user-friendly technologies. The interdisciplinary curriculum draws primarily on social sciences and IT, including areas such as interaction design, natural-user interface development, image processing, as well as prototyping. Graduates will learn problem solving and full-spectrum consultancy skills that are key to the conceptualisation and deployment of practical applications in this dynamic field.

Completion of at least a 6 semester specialised relevant Bachelor’s degree, or comparable higher education at university level with at least 15 ETCS in the field of computer science and at least 3 ECTS in the field of project development and/or management. Sound knowledge of German.

Career Profile

Graduates are sought-after experts in the design and development of innovative digital systems. They have excellent knowledge in the areas of user experience (UX), human-computer interaction (HCI) and interaction technologies such as mixed/virtual reality (MR/VR) and voice computing. You will not only have acquired creative knowledge in the fields of interaction design, information visualisation and multimodal interfaces, but will also be familiar with the technical basics of the necessary sensor technology, signal processing and machine learning. In this role as an expert in human-technology systems, you will have mastered many areas that are of interest for the successful development of user-centred digital products and services. You will therefore be able to build and lead interdisciplinary teams.
