UX and Interaction Design
To develop successful and innovative digital products and services, it is not enough to focus solely on the technological aspects. Rather, people must be placed at the center of our considerations in order to meet users’ expectations and develop products that are not only useful and usable but also offer a positive user experience. For this reason, user experience (UX) and interaction design are key areas of focus in the Human-Centered Computing program.
In this course, you will acquire methodological skills that will help you systematically identify and understand users’ needs, as well as develop creative ideas and implement them as prototypes. To this end, you will learn various prototyping techniques that you can apply to different technologies (e.g., 3D printing, Arduino). In addition to creativity methods, we also place special emphasis on ensuring that you learn empirical methods for testing and evaluation.
Through Design Thinking (based on the methodology of the Design Thinking School at the renowned Hasso Plattner Institute), you will also learn about a creative and user-centered innovation process and gain in-depth experience with various innovation methods. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will tackle a specific problem posed by a company and, in the process, learn how to initiate innovations and develop prototypes.
