Engineering Is Learned by Doing

DEIA is designed around the idea that advanced technologies are best understood when you apply them.

Throughout the programme, lectures are combined with labs, practical exercises, case studies and project-based learning. You will not only discuss Digital Twins, cyber-physical systems or Industrial AI – you will work with them.

From Your First System to a Major Industry Project

In the Industrial AI Systems Lab, you will combine engineering, sensors, actuators, software, data processing and an AI component within a first cyber-physical system.

As your studies progress, projects become increasingly complex. You will analyse industrial challenges, develop technical concepts, work with data, evaluate AI approaches and consider technical feasibility, business value, risks and implementation.

In the third semester, a major practical project gives you the opportunity to integrate the competencies gained throughout the programme in a comprehensive real-world challenge.

Connected to Industry

DEIA has been developed with strong input from industrial experts and companies.

Industry representatives contribute their perspectives on current technologies, future competence needs and real-world applications. Practical projects and Master’s theses provide further opportunities to collaborate with companies and work on challenges that matter outside the classroom.

The aim is simple: when you graduate, applying Engineering and AI to industrial problems should already feel familiar.
