What motivated you to study at the FH Upper Austria? Clearly the practical relevance of the course and the perfectly coordinated course content. I can't remember a single exercise or lecture whose content I didn't need later in my professional life, either directly or indirectly. I think these are clear distinguishing features compared to studying at a university.
What was the most formative experience during your studies? I can't remember a single experience. I think it was a perfect overall package. Without exaggerating, I can say that studying at the UAS shaped me as a person in a holistic way.
What did you take with you from your studies into life? Each semester was accompanied by personality training with an external trainer at interesting, remote locations. This training made me understand at a young age that the best ideas can only be implemented if you inspire people and win them over. It sounds simple, but it's a lifelong learning process that started at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria.
How have you benefited from the UAS in your professional career? The right balance between specialist knowledge, system, leadership and social skills during my studies helped me enormously to lead holistically and systemically.
How do you see the FH Upper Austria today? Very well positioned and strongly anchored in today's Upper Austrian and Austrian economy. I would now say that the term “systemically relevant” is appropriate. When I was a student over 20 years ago, there were 150 students and a single degree program in Steyr. The scale has changed massively without compromising on quality.
What could be improved? I can't judge that. Fortunately, there is a firmly established evaluation system at the FH Upper Austria. Students give regular feedback. This allows us to make the best even better.
Personal comments on 30 years of the Upper Austrian University of Applied Sciences I can only thank FH-Prof. DI Dr. Jodlbauer and his team in Steyr. What he and his management team have built up from scratch in a short space of time is unparalleled. Thank you and please keep it up.
