Petr Hirschner, a Master's student on the English-language Global Salesand Marketing degree program, and his team came third in the international business competition "The Frankfurt Business Game (FBG) 2024" run by the renowned Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
The business student from the FH Upper Austria Campus Steyr came out on top against a hundred highly qualified participants from more than 40 universities around the world. They came to Frankfurt for the two-day event to put their skills to the test in one of the most demanding real-life business case competitions in Europe.
Hirschner and his team worked on a case study provided by Deutsche Börse Group. The task was to develop a strategy and marketing plan for a new investment platform specifically targeting young and inexperienced investors. After intensive teamwork and strategic planning, the students presented their solution to a five-member jury consisting of top industry executives. Their innovative approach and well thought-out presentation secured them a well-deserved place on the podium.
"Taking part in the Frankfurt Business Game was a challenging and incredibly rewarding experience. Developing a real-world solution under time pressure and then defending our concept in front of a panel of industry experts was a formative experience," says Hirschner of his success.
The Frankfurt Business Game, an initiative of Frankfurt School students, aims to promote entrepreneurial thinking, problem-solving and innovation skills. The event brings together talented students from all over the world and offers them the opportunity to gain practical experience and network with leading companies such as BNP Paribas and Deutsche Börse Group.
