The focus of the Six Sigma corporate project at Dana (a subsidiary of Jeld-Wen) was the reduction of defect parts in the production of door frames.
The project team, consisting of Balwin Bokor, Michael Lehner, Mairin Schelkle, and Sarah Mühlberghuber, received support from Markus Oberegger, the Head of Quality Management and a former graduate of the SPMT program. Throughout the project, the data collection and analysis of defective parts were revised, identifying causes and quantifying measures for reduction. In addition, a simulation study was conducted to highlight the production logistics potentials of a CONWIP control, including reducing lead time and improving delivery reliability.
"I am proud of our project team for completing such a challenging project outstandingly—without the theoretical knowledge from the OMT program, it would never have been possible," said Balwin Bokor.
