Campus regulations Linz
House regulations
Scope of application
The house rules apply to all users, in particular students, course participants and internal and external employees of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and cover the following parts of the building:
Campus building Garnisonstraße 21 (Building A)
Campus building Semmelweisstraße 34 (Building D)
The house rules must be handed out or made known to every user within a reasonable period of time. For students and course participants, they are an integral part of the training contract. Ignorance of these house rules does not protect against the consequences of violating them.
Fundamentals
Considerate behavior is the duty of every user in the interest of maintaining the peace of the house and the communal use of the premises. Everyone is advised to take the greatest possible care and protection of all buildings and inventory. It is also pointed out that common areas (forecourt, seating areas by the side exits, inner courtyard, etc.) are also part of the scope of application. Responsible behavior on campus can prevent or reduce repair, operating and maintenance costs.
Please report repair needs and defects affecting the building and campus grounds to Facility Management (Mr. Simon Saubolle DW 54040) immediately. Failures and damage to IT infrastructure (projectors, media controls, copiers, PCs) must be reported to the IT Service Desk (DW 55555).
It is strictly forbidden to climb over railings or climb out of windows onto adjacent roof areas. We also ask you to close the windows at the end of the lesson (when you leave the lecture room for good).
Opening hours of the buildings
During the semester, Building A (main building) and Building D are generally open on Monday and Tuesday from 07:00 to 17:00, from Wednesday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday from 07:00 to 12:00. Students will be informed of any changes to course-free times by e-mail in good time.
Students also receive a chip card, which is designed as an international student ID card. With this chip card, access to the FH buildings is possible all year round from Monday to Friday from 07:00-22:00 and on Saturday from 07:00-19:00. Outside these time slots and on Sundays and public holidays, students are not permitted access. The loss of the chip card (student ID) must be reported immediately to the IT service desk. Access authorizations to the technical laboratories (e.g. for project work) must be agreed separately with the respective head of degree programme.
Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited on the premises of the FH Campus Linz. Smokers are referred to the outdoor smoking areas at the side entrances of Building A and at the courtyard exit of Building D. You are strongly requested not to smoke directly in front of the main entrance so that everyone can enter and leave the building unhindered.
Consuming food and beverages
Eating is generally not permitted in the lecture halls, seminar rooms, technical laboratories and PC rooms as well as at the PC workstations on the 2nd floor. Please use the common areas during the breaks. Hot lunch menus are offered by the Haubis bakery, the canteen of the Landesfrauen- und -kinderklinik and the Cop-Stop.
The consumption of alcohol is generally not permitted on campus. Exceptions in the course of events, buffets, etc. must be agreed with the head of administration (Ms. Birgit Gilly DW 54050 or birgit.gilly@fh-linz.at).
Waste disposal / waste separation
All waste must be placed in the waste garbage cans provided. Please ensure correct waste separation. Cigarette butts are to be disposed of in the ashtrays provided. If the outdoor facilities (forecourt) are soiled by cigarette butts, the person responsible will be asked to remove them.
No solid objects (food waste) may be disposed of via the toilets or water drains. The emptying of liquids that could cause blockages or contamination of the water drains is also prohibited.
Generally accessible information/display area
The allocation of information/display areas is the responsibility of the administration management. Notices and posters may only be displayed in the designated and allocated areas.
The pin boards on the first floor next to HS 2 are reserved for students. All other areas (doors, partition walls, walls, furniture) must be kept free of posters and notices. The pinboards on the first floor between Labor 5 and Labor 6 and in front of the student secretariats are reserved for the faculty or the ÖH.
Parking for bicycles, motorcycles and cars
The vehicles listed above must be parked in the spaces provided. Bicycle racks are available on the forecourt. The AREV underground parking garage can be used for motorcycles and cars. Please note that the underground parking garage is not owned by the FH Upper Austria and therefore the regulations and tariffs cannot be influenced by the FH Upper Austria.
There is a limited number of parking cards for students. These are available from the administration office. However, due to the limited number of parking spaces in the underground parking garage, students are expressly requested to use public transportation.
Storage of personal property / lockers
The lockers in the building are available to students free of charge. The storage of flammable, explosive or toxic substances is expressly prohibited. The administration management reserves the right to order the lockers to be cleared (e.g. for cleaning work). No liability is accepted for lost property. Locker keys are available from the administration management. The loss of locker keys must be reported immediately.
Taking animals with you
Animals may not be brought onto the premises. For staff and students who are dependent on specially trained dogs to compensate for their disability or for therapeutic purposes, an exemption permit can be obtained in consultation with the Dean's Office.
If an exemption is granted, the animal must be kept on a lead in all areas. Pet owners are also liable for all personal injury, property damage and financial loss.
Use of laboratories
Persons who use laboratories in the course of their studies or stay at the Linz campus must comply with the laboratory regulations without restriction. For students of the Medical Technology degree program, these laboratory regulations are attached to the training contract.
Fire protection
It must be ensured that escape routes and exits are kept clear in accordance with fire regulations. Special attention is drawn to the fact that doors closing off fire compartments must not be left open. In this context, we refer to the currently valid fire safety regulations.
