Winter School in Medical Engineering 2025 - review
Key areas: Medical Simulations, Telemonitoring, Bioprinting and Materials
Date: 3 - 7 February 2025
The Department of Medical Engineeringand the International Office organized the sixth Winter School in Medical Engineering. The key areas were: “Medical Simulations, Telemonitoring, Bioprinting and Materials”. There were workshops, lectures, tutorials, field visits and cultural activities.
12 students from seven different European universities joined us for the winter school. They were impressed by the laboratories and the hands on approach - after the lectures there was always a practical part and being such a small group, students could work in teams of 2 to apply the theoretical knowledge into practice.
One highlight was definitely the visit to the Kepler University Hospital where the manager of the 3D lab gave interesting insights of their daily work with the 3D printers.
On the funny side, the Mission Games on the last day of the winter school challenged all students. In groups of 3 different problems waited to be solved - either speed, tactics or a certain skill was necessary to make as many points as possible.
The main feedback we received after the winter school was: "We wish it would have lasted longer!"
