Proteomics

DNA and protein expression analysis

Agarose gels and Western blots can be analyzed with the ChemiDoc MP imaging system. Various chemiluminescent, colorimetric or stain-free methods are used for visualization. In addition to protein detection using Western blots, ELISA tests are also offered for the quantification of proteins in the picogram range.

Technical data

Detection of DNA and proteins | multiplexed, fluorescent Western blotting | stain-free imaging for protein normalization | fast imaging via autofocus and auto-exposure

R&D services

  • Identification and quantification of proteins, nucleic acids and protein-ligand interactions
  • Detection of allergens
  • 96-well sandwich ELISA

Nitrogen analysis

The Dumatherm® is an automatic nitrogen analyzer for determining the nitrogen content in food and animal feed. The Dumatherm® uses the Dumas method as a reference method in nitrogen/protein analysis. The sample material is burned at high temperatures and the resulting nitrogen oxide is reduced to elemental nitrogen via a metallic copper surface and measured. As the Dumas method works without aggressive chemicals, it is safer and more environmentally friendly than nitrogen determination according to Kjeldahl. Routine work currently covers important areas in food and animal feed research.

Analysis time: 3 - 5 minutes | detection limit: 0.003 mg nitrogen absolute | suitable for solid and liquid samples | 64 individual samples + 8 additional samples | Dumatherm Manager as convenient control software for clear results
