PM-International and FH Upper Austria: Research for greater well-being.

Founded in 1993, PM-International AG develops and markets premium products for health, fitness and beauty, both inside and out, under the FitLine brand. PM-International's research and development team has been working together with the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria for almost 10 years. The focus of the collaboration is on bioavailability. The joint research has already resulted in several patents and scientific publications.
In 2019, PM-International launched a partnership with the newly opened Josef Ressel Center for Phytogenic Drug Research. Together with the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and the Vienna University of Technology, plant-based ingredients that could be used to prevent diabetes and obesity, among other things, are being investigated there. In addition, PM-International has been researching the development of innovative plant-based foods and raw materials as a partner of the Austrian Competence Center for Feed and Food Quality, Safety & Innovation (FFoQSI) in the “Green Area” together with scientists from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria since 2020.
FH-Prof. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Julian Weghuber, Scientific Director of the Josef Ressel Centre and the “Green Area”, has been conducting basic and applied research with the PM-International team in several projects since 2012: “What I appreciate about the collaboration with PM-International is the visionary approach, as well as the longevity and consistency of the projects we work on. We decided to work together because our core competencies match, for example in the areas of bioavailability and nutrient transport.” Dr. Tobias Kühne, Scientific Director of PM-International, hopes that the cooperation will provide impetus for further product innovations: “We are constantly working on increasing the bioavailability of FitLine products. We are delighted to be working with the researchers from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and hope to achieve promising results that will ultimately help people to feel better.”
