A new engineering bridge between FHOÖ Wels and KMUTT in Thailand
No doubt, that in a rapidly evolving world, engineering stands at the forefront of innovation and change, as engineers not just do their jobs and design buildings and roads, but create, improve, refine and implement the countless structures and systems, making our life safer, easier and more efficient.
Being an integral part of engineering field, civil engineering is listed today high- growing and high demand. To stay ahead of the curve, it is crucial for civil engineers to engage in continual learning and skill development, which can be achieved only through tight collaboration, teamwork and multidisciplinary expertise. Bringing together different diverse resources, ideas, experiences and perspectives from different backgrounds is the only way for creativity, innovation and successful outcome.
So, aiming to strengthen the ties with partner university KMUTT , one of the leading public universities in Bangkok, Thailand,( with which the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria has been working for 13 years so far) and its Faculty of Engineering in particular, FHOÖ Wels welcomed some Civil Engineering colleagues on July,4. During the meeting both sides were able to discuss different opportunities for exchange, learn about the civil engineering offers as well as explore the opportunities for strengthening cooperation. As a part of the visit programme, a campus tour with the focus on the civil engineering department was organised for Dr.Julapot Chiravachradej (the head of Civil Engineering department) , Dr.Wongnarin Kompor( the lecturer) and Ms.Boonyanuch Sriworawan( the staff of International program in Civil Engineering).
In the course of insightful and fruitful discussion, both sides showed their eager interest to share resources, collaborate on research and exchange programmes. Thus, we may say that the visit was beneficial for both sides as the new bridge connecting two leadership institutions was successfully designed.
