CHE University Ranking: Top Result for the FH Upper Austria Faculty Hagenberg
In the current CHE ranking, the most comprehensive and detailed university ranking in the German-speaking world, the FH Upper Austria Faculty of Informatics, Communications and Media in Hagenberg once again proved its high educational quality. Its computer science degree programs were rated outstandingly in all categories and are among the best in Austria and Germany. The top marks awarded by Hagenberg's students to their “alma mater” were decisive for this result.
“We are proud to be in the top 3 of the best universities of applied sciences in Austria and Germany, as we were in 2021,” says Dean Dr. Berthold Kerschbaumer, ”and we are delighted that our students have confirmed that Hagenberg is the top address for studying computer science.”
Students awarded top marks
As part of the ranking, almost 700 Bachelor's students from the current total of Hagenberg's 1,600 Bachelor's and Master's students were invited to evaluate their experience of individual subject areas in a survey using a 5-star scale. They catapulted “their” faculty into the top field in all of the following categories by rating it with at least 4 stars or more: General study situation, study organization, supervision by lecturers, support during studies, examination organization, library facilities, rooms, IT infrastructure, digital teaching elements, introduction to academic work, support for stays abroad, range of courses, practical orientation of teaching, offers for career orientation and practical phase.

About Hagenberg Faculty
Over 8,600 graduates have already laid the foundation for their careers at the FH Upper Austria Faculty of Informatics, Communications and Media. There are currently 22 practice-oriented Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in computer science, communication and media to choose from in Hagenberg. Another degree course with a focus on artificialintelligence will start in the fall: the English-language Bachelor's degree in ArtificialIntelligence Solutions.
