I am a graduate of AHS/HAK/HLW. Can I also study Medical Device Technology?
Absolutely! Even with a different educational background than a HTL (Higher Technical School) or technical apprenticeship, you can study Medical Device Technology with us, provided you have the necessary academic qualifications. What’s important is that you are interested in technology, natural sciences, and medicine, and are motivated.
In the initial semesters, you will quickly build fundamental knowledge in all relevant areas. We also offer additional support, such as math tutoring or an elective course in electrical engineering.
I already have school knowledge in the areas of Medical Engineering/Technology/Electronics/Mechatronics. Is the Medical Device Technology program right for me?
Absolutely! Having prior knowledge is great and will certainly be useful. However, a degree in Medical Device Technology will significantly expand your knowledge. Our program delves deeper into the subject and incorporates the latest research findings into the curriculum. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you learn in practical settings.
Moreover, you will learn how scientific research and work are conducted, can focus on specific areas of interest, and build a network of contacts with companies and research institutions. All of this is incredibly valuable for your future career.
How much does the program cost?
For students from EU and EEA countries, the tuition fee is €363.36 per semester. Additionally, there is a semester fee for the Student Union (ÖH-Beitrag), which is also due each semester.
Do I need knowledge of Latin or Greek?
The Medical Device Technology program primarily provides an engineering education. Therefore, knowledge of Latin or Greek is not a requirement for the program. Having such knowledge is beneficial, but it is not necessary for studying Medical Device Technology.
What are my opportunities after graduation?
The Medical Engineering sector is a driver of innovation, and the demand for high-quality medical products is rising globally.
Demographic trends and the importance of medical engineers for a healthy society further increase the need for skilled professionals and leaders in this field.
