Application process

Ready to Engineer the Intelligent Industry?

We are looking for students who want to combine a solid technical background with digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence.

If you are curious about how AI can improve real products, machines and industrial systems – and want to work across traditional engineering boundaries – DEIA could be the right next step for you.

Application requirements

You need a completed relevant Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree of at least three years from a recognised higher education institution.

Your previous studies should include sufficient coursework in the following areas:

  • Mathematics and Natural Sciences: at least 10 ECTS
  • Engineering (e.g. Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Measurement, Control or Production Engineering, Technical Product and System Development): at least 45 ECTS
  • Computer Science, Programming, Data Processing, Simulation or Digital Engineering Methods: at least 5 ECTS
  • Business, Management or Project Management: at least 5 ECTS
  • English language proficiency at B2 level is required.

Not sure whether your Bachelor’s degree meets the requirements?

Applications are assessed individually. If individual subject requirements are not fully covered, additional examinations may be defined as part of the admission process.

Do I Already Need to Be an AI Expert?

No. Previous specialisation in Artificial Intelligence is not required.

The programme builds the necessary programming, mathematical, statistical and Machine Learning foundations before moving towards more advanced Industrial AI applications. What matters is a suitable technical background and a strong interest in connecting Engineering and AI.

Required Documents

  • Bachelor Certificate
  • Transcript of Records
  • CV / Curriculum Vitae
  • Passport and Birth Certificate
  • English Language Certificate
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  • DEIA Prerequisites Form
  • Certified translations where required

Depending on the country in which your documents were issued, additional legalisation requirements may apply.

Application Process & Timeline

1. Online Application

Complete the online application and upload all required documents.

2. Review of Your Qualifications

We check whether your previous degree fulfils the academic admission requirements for DEIA.

3. Personal Interview

Eligible applicants are invited to an online interview with members of the programme team.

We want to learn more about your academic background, relevant experience, motivation and goals – and you will also have the opportunity to ask us your questions about DEIA.

4. Admission Decision

Your academic performance and the personal interview form the basis of the admission decision.

5. Legalisation & Visa

International students may need to provide legalised documents and complete the necessary visa or residence procedures before starting their studies.
