Stephan Brandner (34) from Ternberg was honored this year with the "Chimney Award" from the FH OÖ Faculty of Businessand Management at the Steyr campus. As a graduate of the Process Management andBusinessIntelligence (PMBI) program at the FH OÖ Faculty of Businessand Management in Steyr, he received the award for his outstanding achievements and exceptional thesis, making him one of only six students in the entire graduating class.
"I chose to study at FH in Steyr because of the broad management education it offers. The proximity to my employer, BMW Motoren, was also advantageous. What excited me during my studies was the practical relevance and the opportunity to solidify the existing practical knowledge from my professional career with theoretical background," reflects Brandner on his part-time studies.
Applying Knowledge in My Job
After completing HTL Steyr, Stephan Brandner pursued part-time studies in Process Management andBusinessIntelligence at the FH OÖ Faculty of Businessand Management in Steyr. When asked about his future plans, he says, "Consolidating and applying the acquired knowledge in my job is now a top priority."
Bachelor Thesis: Procedural Control and Monitoring of Highly Automated Measurement Processes
For his Bachelor's thesis, Stephan Brandner, in collaboration with his employer BMW Steyr, explored a new and highly specific topic that had not yet been addressed in the literature. The focus was on Lean Management and the question of whether the existing metrics for production measurement processes are sufficient or if additional metrics are needed for optimal production planning. The insights from this research are now being implemented at BMW.
