Welcome to Linz, the "European Capital of Culture 2009"

Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, is home to several universities and colleges and has a population of around 200,000. It lies at the heart of one of the strongest economic regions in Europe. The city is characterized by historic baroque architecture as well as spaces for innovative ideas for the knowledge society of the future. The gastronomy scene offers everything from cozy street cafés in summer to classic Austrian coffee houses and trendy bars. In Linz, urbanity and cosmopolitanism form a symbiosis with coziness and manageable structures. The title of European Capital of Culture 2009 bears witness to the city's rich cultural life as well as its mentality of convivial togetherness.

Modern, well-equipped university

In addition to numerous lecture halls and seminar rooms with modern equipment, the campus building has seven laboratories and a light-flooded library with numerous relevant print publications and database access. A comfortable lounge area with WLAN and screens in the spacious auditorium provides a communicative meeting place with a cozy factor. The faculty team of the Students' Union (ÖH) and the individual course representatives are also there to support student interests.

Arrival FH OÖ Campus Linz

The FH Linz campus is easy to reach both by car and by public transport.

Directions

By car

Autobahn A7, exit Prinz-Eugen-Straße in the direction of Design-Center. After about 300m turn right into Garnisonstraße.

The underground parking garage on campus is operated by the company HAUS & GRUND GmbH and is not owned by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Therefore, the FH Upper Austria only has a limited number of parking spaces. The student parking card provides a parking option, but does not guarantee a fixed parking space. If the underground parking garage is full to capacity, it is no longer possible to enter, even with a student parking card.

Students of the Faculty of Medical Engineering and Applied Social Sciences can apply for a parking card if required. Please send an e-mail to verwaltung@fh-linz.at. A deposit of € 40 must be paid. The student parking rate per day/exit is currently € 2.50.

The general parking rate for the underground parking garage was set by the operator HAUS & GRUND in September 2022 at € 3 per hour and a daily maximum of € 15.

Streetcar line 2 in the direction of Solar City

Streetcar line 3 direction Hauptbahnhof

Change at Mozartkreuzung to trolleybus line 45 to the stop Prinz-Eugen-Straße (stop 3 min from the FH building)

From the airport

Take the "Blue Danube Airport Lines" shuttle bus from the airport to the Europaplatz terminus (journey time 27 min)

From there continue with
Bus line 17 and 19 in the direction of Fernheizkraftwerk
Stop Prinz-Eugen-Straße (travel time 2 min, stop 3 min from the FH building)
