The University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, School of Business & Management
Until 1981, this long and narrow building located in the district “Wehrgraben” accommodated the Hack factory, which was once a large industrial enterprise. Its owner, Josef Hack was a producer of cutlery and possessed a worldwide patent for the invention of the scallop edge knife until 1948. Since 1994, the building has been home of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austtria, School of Business & Management.
The School of Business & Management in Steyr provides more than 1,385 students with a modern, practice oriented university degree for a later career in the field of leadership and international management. It has a specifically international focus. Students are provided with the very latest internationally recognised input whereby intercultural management and English as the language of instruction are the order of the day. While English is a compulsory language French, Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Czech are also offered as options.
From the research & development point of view, activities began in 1995, a short time after the commencement of teaching activities at Steyr Campus. Success stories at regional, national and European level in the field of research were written in the subsequent years. Nowadays, Campus Steyr and the other schools of the University located in Linz, Hagenberg and Wels, have become strong and competent partners of the economic community. This especially includes the R&D activities at the School of Business & Management, where in-depth knowledge in the following fields is demonstrated:

By plane
Take the plane to the regional airport Linz (40km), or alternatively to Salzburg (160 km), Vienna(180 km) or Munich(300 km) and continue with the train.
Vienna - Steyr
When arriving at the airport take the bus or the high-speed railway (City Airport Train - CAT) /underground to the railway station. Take the train from the central railway station at Vienna; trains leave hourly to St. Valentin (most of the time a quarter to the hour). Upon arriving to St. Valentin, please take the connecting train to Steyr. 10 minutes walking distance to the venue as well as to the city centre where most of the hotels are located.
Salzburg - Steyr
When arriving at the airport take the bus that brings you to the railway station, take the train from the central railway station at Salzburg. Trains leave twice per hour (most of the time some minutes after the hour, terminal is either Vienna or Budapest). Please change trains at Linz and take the connecting train to Steyr; 10 minutes walking distance to the venue as well as to the city centre where most of the hotels are located.
Munich - Steyr
When arriving at the airport use the high-speed railway; change at München Ost (Munich East) and take the connecting train (terminal is either Vienna or Budapest); please change trains at Linz and take the connecting train to Steyr; 10 minutes walking distance to the venue as well as to the city centre where most of the hotels are located.
Linz - Steyr
when arriving at the airport take the bus to the railway station (bus leaves every hour at the hour); take the train from Linz to Steyr; 10 minutes walking distance to the venue as well as to the city centre where most of the hotels are located.
For conference participants arriving at the Blue Danube airport Linz we recommend to use SMS - Taxi as shuttle to Steyr.
