Fachhochschul-Förderverein awarded prizes for the most innovative ideas, Robert Wrulich received award
AMM graduate Robert Wrulich is among the twelve graduates who were awarded the "INNOVATIONaward 2021" by the Fachhochschul-Förderverein. Wrulich won in the category automation technology/mechatronics.
In his master thesis, Wrulich developed an innovative electric motor and analyzed sales markets. Each of the four category winners received a bonus of 1,500 euros.
The current trend toward EMobility requires new ways of thinking; a task that Wrulich was aiming at in his master project at the company Miba e-mobility GmbH. He developed a motor concept suitable for series production, using "Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC)" materials. Motors of this type have not yet established on the market. However, the principle is being applied to alternators in vehicles. The engine is expected to deliver a correspondingly high torque density. "This engine has already been installed in a motorcycle and tested. The newly developed series design has now also been patented", explained the award winner.
