AXIMEIA

Advanced X-Ray Imaging Methods for Industrial Applications

The main part of the project Advanced X-Ray Imaging Methods for Industrial Applications (AXIMEIA) involves the implementation of case studies on typical questions and problems in the inspection of components and materials that can be addressed with current X-ray imaging techniques. These case studies will then be prepared in the form of a publicly available digital catalog to provide barrier-free access to the fundamental information and possibilities of X-ray computed tomography. However, the investment and personnel required to actually employ these methods often represent a considerable obstacle, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). For this reason, SMEs in the program region are offered free consultations and pilot measurements as part of the project in order to provide an immediate assessment of their individual problems and to be able to implement appropriate solutions. Finally, these measures will give SMEs in the border region access to state-of-the-art X-ray equipment and knowledge to promote innovation and increase competitiveness in the long term.
