Open-Air Movie Night at FH Upper Austria’s Hagenberg Campus

Summer is bringing cinema vibes back to the FH Upper Austria Campus Hagenberg: on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the courtyard of the Faculty of Computer Science, Communication and Media will once again transform into an open-air cinema—for the fifth time.

At the popular FH Summer Movie Night, visitors can look forward not only to an entertaining film evening with free admission, but also to the chance to explore the campus and learn more about the study programs on offer.

In cooperation with Wanderkino Steininger, FH Upper Austria will screen the film *“Der Held vom Bahnhof Friedrichstraße”* by Wolfgang Becker. This tragicomedy tells the story of a Berlin video store owner who, around the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, unexpectedly becomes a supposed hero of German history. The film will be shown in German with English subtitles and is rated suitable for ages six and up.

The movie will start at dusk, around 9:15 PM, in the courtyard of the FH2 building at Campus Hagenberg. From 8:00 PM onwards, free campus tours and study consultations will be offered. Visitors can gain insights into studying in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, communication, and digital media.

Cold drinks and small snacks will be available on site to create a true open-air cinema atmosphere.

Visitors are asked to bring their own blankets or seating as well as warm clothing. A limited number of deck chairs and seating options will be provided by FH Upper Austria. In total, around 150 free seats are available on a first come, first served basis.

There will also be a giveaway: three VIP lounge packages, including a snack box for two people, will be raffled off among all participants. To enter, an online form must be completed by June 7, 2026.

In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to the Audimax lecture hall at the Campus Hagenberg.
