The University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Steyr campus once again became an international hub for lecturers, students, and researchers: As part of the International Teaching Days 2026, the School of Businessand Management welcomed around 30 professors from 19 partner universities across 14 countries.
This established format brings international perspectives directly into the classroom and offers students the opportunity to engage with current topics in business, management, digitalization, sustainability, and leadership. Workshops ranged from “AI-Enhanced Digital Marketing Strategy”, “Algorithmic Personalized Marketing”, and “Using Power BI for business data analysis and decision-making” to “Designing SustainableBusiness Models” and “Sustainable Mobility in Practice”, as well as international management topics such as “Trade Policy Analysis”, “Doing Business with U.S. Americans”, and “Turnaround Management.” Topics such as business ethics, CSR, ESG, circular economy, financial wellbeing, and job readiness were also in focus this year.
Beyond academic exchange, the International Teaching Days placed a strong emphasis on cultural exchange and international networking. Lecturers from various countries contributed their experiences and perspectives, while students benefited from international insights and hands-on workshops directly on site.
The International Teaching Days also provided participating professors with a platform for exchange and professional development. One highlight was the well-attended staff workshop “Innovative Business Programming to Enhance Job Readiness in Business Students”, led by Dr. Aaron Gordon from Algoma University in Canada and his research assistant Sierra Stefanizzi. The session centered on the findings of a comparative study of business programs in Canada, the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom, and explored how universities can better prepare students for the demands of the job market.
“The International Teaching Days demonstrate every year how valuable international perspectives are for our teaching. They bring current topics, new approaches, and intercultural exchange directly into our students’ academic experience. At the same time, they provide an important platform for our faculty to discuss international developments in higher education and learn from one another”, says Andreas Auinger, Dean of the UAS Upper Austria Campus Steyr.
The International Fair marked the conclusion of the International Teaching Days: for one evening, the world came to Steyr campus. International students from 19 countries showcased their home nations through interactive stations featuring culinary specialties, cultural insights, music, and personal stories. The International Fair made the campus’s diversity tangible and has long become a truly unique and vibrant celebration.
