With the Upper Austrian research initiative “Personalized Technical Medicine,” the region of Upper Austria is sending a strong signal for scientific excellence, innovative strength, and forward‑looking regional development.
For the first time, Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU), the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FH Upper Austria), the Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria (IT:U), and the Kepler University Hospital (KUK) are working together as equal partners within a long‑term research agenda. With support from the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKOÖ), the aim is to develop next‑generation medical‑technological innovations that will directly benefit patients while also being transferred into the economy.
This new research initiative was presented at a press conference with all participating institutions on December 15, 2025.
FH Upper Austria was represented on the panel by its University President, FH‑Prof. DI Dr. Michael Rabl, MBA (TUM).
