FH Upper Austria at the Congress of the World Technology University Network (WTUN)
Recently, a delegation of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria led by President Dr. Gerald Reisinger and Provost Dr. Michael Affenzeller attended the annual congress of the World Technology University Network (WTUN) in Erfurt.
The World Technology University Congress (WTUC), now in its eighth year, was held in 2023 under the motto "Sustainable Futures: Global Trends and the Role and Responsibility of Technology Universities" and encouraged the participating universities to exchange views on special initiatives and contributions to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The focus was on numerous practical examples of sustainable university practices as well as sustainability as a topic for research & development.
In this context, Dr. Christina Toigo presented a highly regarded and discussed contribution on her research activities and results in the field of sustainable energies.
FH Upper Austria has been a member of WTUN since 2019. In this relatively short time, it was already possible to participate in many specific initiatives, such as the annual Student Competitions or the also annual Hackathon. Furthermore, members of the network benefit, among other things, from funded exchange visits to other universities or monetary prizes for doctoral students. In the current academic year FH Upper Austria is primarily hosting exchanges of lecturers and researchers. Further information and members at www.wtu-n.net.
