Culture & Events
A number of museums and other cultural landmarks wait for you in Linz, which was the official European Cultural Capital in 2009. There are bus connections to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, approximately every hour. A bus trip to Linz takes about 35 minutes, by car it takes about 20 minutes.
Leisure & Student Life
Hagenberg Campus organises a varied program of events ranging from the legendary “Summer Fest”, the “Bierkistenrennen” (beer crate race) or the “Pub Quiz” and to more formal events such as the “International Fair” (where incoming students have the opportunity to present their home universities).
Of course there’s more to student life in Hagenberg than just studying – there are plenty of leisure time activities to pursue here as well. Movie nights and student parties regularly take place on campus.
Sports
Especially those interested in sports will find a variety of suitable facilities in Hagenberg. You can register at the FH OÖ Sports Team which offers a range of sports activities such as: Zumba, Nei Gong, Breakdance, Kickboxing, Krav Maga, dancing classes, soccer, climbing, capoeira, flag football, tennis, ultimate frisbee and open ball games. The courses offered vary from term to term.

In the winter, the gentle slopes in the Mühlviertel and the majestic mountains in the south of Upper Austria (Salzkammergut) and the neighbouring provinces of Salzburg and Styria offer plenty of opportunity for skiing and snowboarding. In the winter semester we usually organise a skiing day with our exchange students.
