ISAE4W
We are very happy to announce that the 11th International Summer Academy in Engineering for Women - ISAE4W takes place from July 8-23, 2025.
The International Summer Academy for Women in Engineering (ISAE4W) offers an ideal opportunity for a selected group of highly-motivated and talented women (high school, college or undergraduate students) to experience top-class and challenging university-level coursework.
The Academy’s intensive, two and a half week program combines sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in engineering and natural sciences. In addition to knowledge transfer in these fields, social, cross-cultural and gender aspects are covered and discussed during lectures and workshops.

Get some insights into the ISAE4W Class of 2022
22 girls from 12 countries gained new experiences abroad in and around Upper Austria and not only studied technical subjects in the workshops and seminars, but also made new friends in an intercultural and interdisciplinary network.
The participants travelled from Mexico, Chile, Spain, Ireland, Columbia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Malaysia, Sweden and the United States of America to Austria, in compliance with all quarantine regulations.
We welcomed students from a wide range of technical backgrounds. With different workshops, they tried to reflect the diverse interests of our participants, but also the range of technology. The program included exclusive insights into the world of hydropower, space technology, ethical and sustainable product design, Internet of Things for astronomical observations, current projects in medical technology and robotics. The experience was rounded off with excursions to the Kepler-Clock in Grieskirchen, hydroelectric power plants, the company Rosenbauer and the Ars Electronica Center. Of course, the participants were able to experience the culture and beauty of Austria: an excursion to the Grünberg and Traunsee-lake, swimming in the Oedtersee, a visit to a Mostheuriger, and a guided tour of the city of Wels rounded off the academic program culturally as well.
In addition, the participants visited Hallstatt, Salzburg, Vienna etc. on their own during the free weekends.
