Social, Public, and Nonprofit Management is a part-time business study program designed to address the needs of the social and health sectors, the public sector, and nonprofit organizations (NPOs). The core of the program consists of solid business administration qualifications. Additionally, the program covers legal fundamentals for management, sustainability, digitalization, and ethics. It provides insights into the specifics and operational logics of non-profit organizations and institutions from a public welfare perspective. Students also develop a deeper understanding of the needs of diverse target groups served by public, social, and health-related services. Social and personal skills further enhance the profile of graduates from this industry-specific management program.

The part-time Master's program offers industry-specific general management training with a focus on non-profit organizations and public institutions. With experts from academia and practice, state-of-the-art knowledge and trends in non-profit and public management are explored in small groups, allowing students to acquire well-founded, industry-specific competencies at the master's level. As part of the program, students independently conduct projects for non-profit organizations and public institutions. This allows the knowledge gained to be directly transferred into practice. Various elective modules enable further and individual specialization, for example in the healthcare sector or social management. Providing a comprehensive understanding of the management of non-profit organizations and the public sector prepares students in the best possible way for future leadership challenges

The degree programme offers scientific and vocational/professional training with a special focus on intercultural competence. This is especially important in connection with Austria´s demographics, which are strongly influenced by migration. Social workers encounter clients with migration background in all their fields of activity. Intercultural competence is, therefore, a cross-sectional type of competence and not solely an additional qualification relevant for employees in migration-specific service institutions.
