InnoCamp36 - Applied Innovation Management / Campus Steyr

InnoCamp36 is a 36-hour innovation competition at Campus Steyr, organized by the Global Sales and Marketing (GSM) program. Open to all FH OÖ students, it allows participants to apply their knowledge to real business challenges.
Interdisciplinary teams of 5-10 students tackle future - oriented problems, creating solutions through intense collaboration. They present their ideas in a start-up pitch to a jury, with the top three teams winning prizes sponsored by partner companies. Optionally, promising ideas can be further developed within the participating companies.

This program fosters hands-on experience, collaboration, and strategic problem-solving in a dynamic innovation environment.
By the end of InnoCamp36 you will be able to
→ apply the Design Thinking process, innovation tools, and business modeling to real-world challenges.
→ work effectively in interdisciplinary teams to solve complex, cross-functional problems in B2B industries.
→ accept and integrate constructive feedback to refine and adapt solutions based on real-world effectiveness.

This course takes place over two full days, starting in the morning and continuing into the evening. The end time is flexible and determined by each team based on their progress and schedule.

Global B2B Marketing Case Study / Campus Steyr

This course gives you hands-on learning through 
real-world case studies, immersing you in the complexities of global B2B marketing. You’ll apply strategic marketing knowledge to solve business challenges, integrating theory with current industry insights. You’ll explore cross-national strategies, tackle the realities of international trade, and navigate the dynamics of multinational enterprises.  

Through practical exercises, you’ll develop essential skills in product management, branding, pricing, and communication strategies for today’s and future business environments. Additionally, you’ll gain awareness of cultural and linguistic influences on international B2B marketing, helping you craft effective global strategies.

This course aims to provide you with key concepts, state of the art tools and practical applications of presentation to create appealing business presentations.

→ Design fundamentals for business presentations
→ Basics of visual composition and arranging information
in a visually appealing way.
→ Using media and diagrams to enhance audience engagement.
→ AI powered text-to-picture generation (Adobe Firefly)
→ Introduction to text-to-picture tools and features.

Courses Social Skills SOC

Outdoor Sensitivity Training: Experience- and solution-oriented interaction in groups

In this practice-oriented course, you will immerse yourself in the world of experiential education. You will develop a feel for solution-focused group processes, learn how to navigate the terrain safely with a map, compass and app and gain valuable know-how for life outdoors.The course concludes with a hike together and an overnight stay outdoors at the Steyrsteg bivouac site in the Kalkalpen National Park - including an intensive experience of nature.
Theory and practice go hand in hand - for lasting learning experiences that make a difference.

This seminar will give you
→ a deep understanding of how experiences of nature, adventure and daring have a positive influence on the human experience - based on key experiential education theories such as the *Tree of Science*,
→ practical methods for communicating in groups in a solution-focused way, mastering challenges together and activating resources,
→ basic skills in using a map, compass and digital navigation aids, which you can apply directly on a guided hike
→ as well as the necessary basic knowledge about camping outdoors →including an overnight stay at a bivouac site in the Kalkalpen National Park.

Introduction Quantum Computing / online

In this course we discuss the following:
quantum states, superposition, entanglement, quantum gates (quantum operations), quantum measurements, quantum computing, problems that can be solved more efficiently by quantum computers, potential applications to real-world problems, state-of-the-art of quantum computers, quantum key distribution, quantum communication.

Throughout the course you will do exercises on a real quantum computer. Don‘t worry, the exercises will be simple - even if you haven‘t programmed before - , but will help you get a feeling as what quantum computing is. Exercises are optional.

Neural Networks and Deep Learning / Campus Linz

You will get to know the basic ideas and concepts behind neural networks and will be able to design and train neural networks. You apply deep neural networks and
convolutional neural networks to practical tasks and solve practical tasks using various kinds of neural networks in Python using Tensorflow/Keras. You know the basic ideas and concepts behind more sophisticated neural network architectures, such as, recurrent neural networks and generative adversarial networks.

This course is about the following topics:

Formula Student Project / Campus Wels

In this course you will gain detailed knowledge of the development, construction, design and manufacture of vehicles and you can implement this in the „Formula Student“ project. You will get to know methods for independently organizing a team and learn how to evaluate the development using business methods of cost accounting.

→ Construction of a FSAE racing car

The teams of the international Formula Student event series will participate in a global engineering competition along with teams from other universities.

Sustainable Design in Medical Engineering / Campus Linz

The course aims to raise awareness of sustainability and to provide knowledge and tools for sustainable design, especially in the field of medical engineering. It covers frameworks, such as the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the U.N. and the EU Green Deal, guidelines and reporting standards, and how these regulatory efforts drive innovation. There is a focus on ecological design and life cycles of medical products, also in the form of an in-class project.

You will gain knowledge in the most important frameworks of sustainability, reporting standards and regulations, as well as ecological design in the medical engineering area. The course provides tools for implementing sustainability in the design and life cycles of medical products.
