AMM@BMW: Insights into the birthplace of Sheer Driving Pleasure
30.11.2023
Students of the master's degree program Automotive Mechatronics and Management (AMM) were given a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the strategy and production of the BMW Group's largest engine plant!
It is a fact that there is no better way to experience the importance of production management than to see it first-hand in an actual production environment. As a highlight of his production management lecture, Felix Reumann MSc gave the AMM students the unique opportunity to get insights into his workplace: the BMW Group's largest engine plant Steyr!
Supplemented by expert talks with lean management specialists, students learned of strategies that allow the plant to produce up to 5500 engines daily and also be ready to conquer future challenges. One of them is the build-up and integration of the electric drivetrain production into the plant by 2025. Besides that, in addition to production, BMW Steyr is also a future-oriented development site, as a completely new type of high-performance electric drive is currently being developed here.
The entire AMM team would like to thank Felix Reumann for these unique insights into such sophisticated production facilities and for his support!
