Welcome Week for International Students 

Sept 15-18, 2026

We host a mandatory Welcome Week for international students from all levels and programs to provide the most essential information and get acquainted on campus. Starting September 15, 9am there will be info sessions, networking opportunities, campus and city tours as well as introductions from various campus teams and organizations and fun activities with the Buddies.

In addition, the study programs host additional, program specific, information sessions in the week from Sept 21.

The detailed schedules will be sent to all international students via e-mail.

New Service Center for Students and Faculty at Wels Campus

Starting October 1st, 2026, the new Service Center at Wels Campus will be available to you as a central point of contact for organizational and administrative matters.

Location:
Student Service Center, A | O2-041 (Building A, 2nd floor)

Hours of operation:

  • Tuesday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday through Friday: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Services:
The Service Center supports students and faculty with the following, among other things:

  • Exam administration and access to exam results
  • Receipt of documents and forms
  • Rental of calculators and presentation kits
  • Organizational information regarding academic operations
  • Administrative matters

Financials/Student Jobs

Working while studying
Many degree programs schedule fixed days off. This allows students to work part-time to supplement their budget. Please note that this is not recommended for international students during their first year. In addition, work permits might be required. Scholarships, grants & subsidies

Information on scholarships can be found at http://www.stipendium.at/ and http://www.ak-bildung.at/Stipendium/stipr.htm.
Furthermore, the study programs award performance and grant scholarships - information on this can be obtained from the study program secretariats. The ÖH student union at Wels Campus awards food subsidies.

Students parties, Events, Sports Program, Sightseeing

The regular Seiterlstandl, October or Mensa parties of the student associations (ÖH Hochschülerschaft, IF-Studentenverein), the FH sports program or the International Evenings provide the necessary balance after an exciting day of studying. But also the sights of the city of Wels and cooperation with the Wels pubs and stores offer opportunities to chill out together.

Scheduled Seiterlstandl dates for the winter semester: Oct. 8 ("Oktoberfest"), Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Nov. 19, Nov. 27, Dec. 3, Dec. 15, Jan. 14.

Feel good at the new campus

At our school, studying is a collaboration between students, faculty and staff. In addition to imparting knowledge, the focus is on applying knowledge. Therefore, it is important that students, faculty and staff feel comfortable on campus and enjoy spending time here. The campus should be a synthesis of working, learning and living space. This means that in addition to lecture halls, seminar rooms and laboratories, there also need to be rooms and areas where students and lecturers can exchange ideas and relax.

Mental Health First Aiders
