Optimization of Variant Diversity in Car Production
In a company project, students from the "International Logistics Management" program, in cooperation with BMW Steyr, focused on the variety of options in car production.
The increasing demand for customized products poses new challenges for car production, leading to a rise in product and process variants, along with increased complexity. To cope with this complexity, it is crucial to create transparency in production processes. As part of a value stream optimization project at BMW in Steyr, students from the Bachelor's program in International Logistics Management utilized Process Mining in conjunction with Celonis technology to capture and analyze logistics processes. This approach enables a detailed analysis and optimization of processes to efficiently meet the requirements for customer-specific products.
