Children's book “Raccoon Beo, the supply chain hero” turns sustainability into an adventure: Steyr students get involved in the circular economy
A group of Master's students from the Supply Chain Management course at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences on the Steyr campus are currently working on an exciting project: the development of a children's book on the topic of the circular economy. The project is called “Supply Chain Heroes” and aims to raise awareness among young readers aged 5 to 12 about the importance of sustainability and the prudent use of resources in a creative way.
Circular economy - a concept for the future
The circular economy is a sustainable economic model that aims to use resources for as long as possible, reduce waste and return products to the economic cycle at the end of their life. By recycling, reusing and refurbishing products, the life cycle is extended, which not only protects the environment but also increases efficiency.
Children's book with added value
With the children's book “Raccoon Beo, the Supply Chain Hero”, the students want to bring this important aspect of sustainability closer to children. The lively story is intended to show children how they themselves can become little everyday heroes by actively working to protect the environment and promote a sustainable future. The highlight of the project is the drawing competition, which invites children to illustrate the story from their own imagination in order to engage even more intensively with the topic of sustainability. The best works of art will be included in the final children's book and will each win a €30 cinema voucher for the young supply chain heroes.
“We are proud to have set up this project and look forward to working with the children and society to raise awareness of the importance of the circular economy.” The students are already looking forward to the numerous ideas and submissions, as the children's book “Raccoon Beo, the Supply Chain Hero” should be a lot of fun and encourage the creativity of young readers. “Of course, the informative and educational aspect of the story is also particularly important to us,” says the student group. And further: “We are looking forward to numerous creative submissions and a successful implementation of this project for a more sustainable future. The closing date for entries is 30.06.2024.”
